Many men dream up inventive ways of asking their girlfriends to marry them, but a particular crossword fan's recent proposal takes the biscuit.
Aric Egmont from Cambridge, Canada was used to doing the crossword puzzle in the Boston Globe Sunday magazine with his girlfriend Jennie Bass.
So this summer he wrote to the magazine and asked them to create a special 'popping the question' puzzle just for him.
Emily Cox and Henry Rathvon, a married puzzle-writing team, agreed without hesitation.
When Jennie and Aric got to the clue 111 across: "Generic proposal", Aric wrote in the answer: "Will you marry me?"
Aric told the Globe: "We get to the 'Will you marry me?' clue, and I said, 'Will you marry me, Jenny?'
"I got up, got the ring, and got down on one knee and she screamed, and hugged me. It took her a minute to say yes."
It takes a lot of imagination to top a proposal like that, but why not search for your perfect date!
