Engaged hotel kitchen assistant Emma Dunn was scouring the internet for wedding dresses when she came across one she liked for £1,500.
But she decided to research all her options before agreeing to buy the dress and was delighted when she found an exact replica on eBay.
With only ten minutes remaining the 23-year-old mum-of-two decided to place a bid for £2.50 and she soon received an email from China saying that she had won the bespoke ivory satin gown with diamante beading on the bodice.
A few weeks later the dress arrived at her home in Melton Mowbray in a Parcel Force van.
Size six Emma told the Telegraph: "It was folded up nicely and neatly and it was an absolutely perfect fit. People just couldn't believe it when I told them I'd bought it for £2.50."
The blushing bride received compliments galore when walked up the aisle to marry machine technician Paul Worthington (31) in her bargain dress.
She said: "We had a brilliant day. It shows you don't have to spend loads of money to have a great wedding."
As for the future of the dress, Emma said: "Paul thinks I should put it back on eBay because we'd probably get quite a lot of money for it, but I haven't made my mind up yet."
