Green Brits now place eco-awareness higher up their list of must-haves when it comes to picking a perfect date than ever before, according to new research.
Environment-conscious singles now admit that they would not be attracted to the idea of dating someone who didn't recycle or frequently left taps running.
A survey of 2,046 adults across the UK commissioned by EDF Energy revealed that eco-friendliness now ranks alongside a good dress sense and sense of humour for one in five Britons.
For those in couples, 18 per cent admitted that environmental issues were a regular topic for arguments.
Eco-friendly Vicki Jobling told Female First: "My boyfriend is much less eco-conscious than me and it drives me mad when I have to follow him round turning off lights in unoccupied rooms or switching the TV off when he's not even watching it.
"The worst by far is when he leaves the fridge door open whilst cooking an entire meal!"
The top worst anti-green habits cited by respondents included leaving electrical appliances on stand-by, throwing away plastic packaging instead of recycling and leaving lights on.
Whether you're looking for an eco-warrior or not, search for your perfect date!
