Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon has offered some tips on how to make a relationship work and she believes that mutual appreciation is the key to a happy love-life.
The 42-year-old star, who plays high-flying lawyer Miranda Hobbs in the hit show, says that she does believe in the concept of having a soul-mate.
However she says that once two people get together they can often begin to take each other for granted, particularly when they have busy careers or children, which is why Cynthia says it is extremely important to make time for one another.
She explained: "It's so easy to have your marriage or your relationship put on the back burner. You think that person is always going to be there. You say, 'Next week, I'll pay more attention,' or, 'Next year, I'll pay more attention.' But if you don't tend to it, it dies.
"So I think it's really important to spend time with that person when you're making dinner, putting the kids to bed or cleaning up."
