A recent survey has revealed that the old adage holds true and absence really does make the heart grow fonder.
In news that will be welcomed by internet daters being away from your partner is actually good for a relationship - 76 per cent of business travellers to Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts said they love their partner more often when away on business.
Easier reports that 60 per cent of those surveyed said that the further they are from their loved one the more likely they are to call them.
Messages of love aren't just limited to the hotel room either - 40 per cent admitted texting "I Love You" to their partner during a business meeting.
"This is really refreshing news for business travellers who have to spend time away from home and their families due to work commitments," said Chris Hale, spokesperson for Crowne Plaza.
"Contrary to popular belief, business people seem to be enjoying better relationships with their partners thanks to time spent apart. As our survey indicates, it can be all too easy to take a partner or loved ones for granted when you fall into a domestic routine.
"Being away can actually lead to better communication and give couples space to think about what brought them together in the first place," Mr Hale concluded.
Don't let distance get in the way of true love - search for your perfect partner now!
