France has taken a blow to its reputation for having the best lovers as a new poll has revealed that they are not as satisfied in the bedroom as other nations.
A survey of 26,000 people held in 26 different countries revealed that, although French lovers are near the top of the sexual ranking in terms of frequency, claiming to have sex approximately 120 times a year, only a quarter of those questioned said that they were "satisfied".
Meanwhile, it seems to be a case of quality rather than quantity for us Brits. Although we ranked relatively poorly in terms of frequency, having intercourse 92 times a year, some 40 per cent of respondents achieved satisfaction, the poll conducted by condom maker Durex revealed.
And if you're looking for the most sexually active and satisfied nation in the world, the answer is Nigeria, which was followed by Mexico and India in the sex survey.
"The French lover's morale and everything that goes with it is at half mast," the Telegraph quoted Le Parisien as lamenting.
