First dates can be nerve-wracking experiences but who better to offer hints and tips than Sex and the City writer Greg Behrendt?
He knows the ins and outs of Carrie Bradshaw's complicated love-life and in his new book, It's Just A Date, Behrendt gives singles advice on what to do and not to do on that all-important date.
Having secured a first date by using the dating services on offer, Behrendt says the most important thing to do is arrive on time, as turning up late implies that your time is more important than your date's.
Secondly, Behrendt advises people to compliment their date on their appearance, the choice of venue or something else because they too will probably be nervous and a small compliment will help your date to relax.
Finally, Behrendt advises daters to leave just a little bit earlier than you might want to because it will leave your date wanting more.
"The best way to ensure a second date is leaving a first one on a high note," the author tells The Sun.
"So if he suggests stopping for coffee after a great dinner and drinks, say no - even if it's really a yes inside. It'll make him think about you because he didn't get enough."
Armed with these handy tips, search for your perfect date!
