    The Queen's eldest grandson became the first royal of his generation to tie the knot at the weekend.

    Peter Phillips, eleventh in line to the throne, married Canadian Autumn Kelly at a private ceremony in Windsor.

    The bride, born and raised a Catholic, renounced her faith and joined the Church of England so her groom could keep his right.

    The happy couple were joined by 300 family members and friends for the quiet event at St George's Chapel on Saturday.

    As well as friends from university, the pair welcomed the Queen and Prince Phillip, as well as Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.

    One notable absentee was Prince William who was in Africa for the wedding of an old friend. The Prince sent girlfriend, Kate Middleton, in his official place, raising speculation that another royal engagement could be on the cards.
