Online dating sites are an excellent way to meet people for those who dislike going to bars and clubs, according to a number of users.
For many people past their early twenties, or even those who belong to this age group, meeting singles in bars seems forced and difficult.
The internet provides a valuable alternative because it is possible to find out a lot about a person before you agree to meet.
One internet dating fan, Ashlee Peterson, told Fox 21: "If you are older, in your 30s or 40s or 50s, then the downtown scene is not really the best place to find someone. There are a lot of neat groups of people online that you can be compatible with."
Another user, Matt Gilreath (39), who met his fiancee through a dating website, advised singles to be confident about online dating.
He said: "Definitely keep an open mind and if you do sign up online, I would just encourage them to just meet the person as a friend, do not go in with anymore intention and just see where it goes from there."
To find someone you're compatible with, search for your perfect date!
