As far as proposals go, romantic business tycoon Gennady Zaleskiy's takes some beating as he paid £10,000 to stage a play so that he could ask his girlfriend to marry him.
Mr Zaleskiy (38) knew that his girlfriend was a huge theatre fan so arranged for the play The Romantics to be staged in Zaporozhie, Ukraine, with himself cast as the leading man.
He then organised for his girlfriend to attend a performance of the play while she was on a girls' night out.
At a crucial point in the play when he was supposed to declare his love for the leading lady, he instead turned to the audience and said: "No, the woman I love is called Victoria and she is in the sixth row. Will you marry me Victoria?"
Victoria said: "It was the most romantic thing I have ever seen. After this I know I will never need anyone else in my life."
