Office flings can help to improve productivity in the workplace, a study has found.
Italian researchers have discovered that an office romance can "raise energy levels and lead to better professional capacity".
A poll published in an Italian women's lifestyle magazine, interviewed 480 men and women aged 25 to 55.
It found that one in five people admitted to having had an office romance, while one in ten couples said they had got together after their eyes met across a crowded office.
Commenting on the results, Italian sexologist Serenella Salomoni said: "We discovered that people who were having a romance with their colleagues at work were more in tune with each other and worked better together.
"Many people also said that this also helped create a more professional attitude and eliminated friction between office managers and colleagues.
"We also found that people who had a lover at work were also more willing and happier to actually go into the office than if they didn't."
One in woman in seven confessed to having turned down an offer of promotion and better pay to stay working with their lover.
