Ronaldo preparing to get down on one knee

  Manchester United's striker Cristiano Ronaldo is rumoured to be getting married to his Spanish girlfriend.
  
  The star footballer is reportedly planning to approach Nereida Gallardo's step-father to ask his permission to pop the question.
  
  Ronaldo has been dating the 24-year old model since January when they met in a Spanish nightclub.
  
  Reports in early May revealed that the striker had asked Gallardo to move into his multi-million pound mansion in Cheshire.
  
  However, a source claims that Ronaldo seeks more stability and the challenges of a long-distance relationship have been taking their toll.
  
  "He looks at so many of his teammates who head off to their loved ones, and that’s what he now wants.
  
  "He is really missing that special someone. With Nereida moving over here to be with him it's going to make the pair of them so much happier," said the source.
  
  Ronaldo has previously dated TV stars such as Gemma Atkinson, Luciana Abreu and Carolina Patrocinio.
