People over the age of 50 are more likely to have sex on a first date than those under 40, a new survey has revealed.
Throwing off their fusty image, the survey also showed that over half (53 per cent) of over-50 singles rated lust and passion more highly than marriage.
The research, conducted by Facts International on behalf of Parship, also revealed that 84 per cent of over-50s want a full sexual relationship with the next person they date.
Senior singles also appear to be optimistic about finding love, as 73 per cent intend to find a fulfilling relationship in the next year.
"Clearly, being over 50 doesn?t mean you give up on love," said 60-year old David Noble, managing director of lifestyle website wanobe.com.
"The under 30s may feel they invented sexual liberation, but it was the Baby Boomer generation who staged the first summer of love - more than 40 years ago."
