An artificial intelligence expert is attempting to convince lonely singles not to despair because in 42 years time humans will be able to have sex with robots.
In his book Sex With Robots: The Evolution of Human-Robot relationships, David Levy claims that by 2050, robots will be so advanced that they will be virtually indistinguishable from real people and that humans will be able to use them for sex.
He writes: "Great sex on tap for everyone, 24/7. What's not to like?"
Levy also asserts that the people who will benefit most from the development will be those who are unlucky in love.
"They're lonely, they're miserable. I think society will be a much better place when they have an alternative that satisfies them without doing any harm to other people," Levy explains.
"If there was a robot of the sort I describe in the book, I would certainly want to experience using it for sex and I wouldn't regard it as anything untoward."
Robots may be acceptable for some, but if you'd prefer to meet a person like you, search for your perfect date!
