Modern singles are becoming increasingly eco-conscious, so much so that many men and women looking for a partner now have to check out a potential date's green credentials before they agree to accompany them to an organic restaurant for dinner.
According to new research, such is the rise of 'environmentally-friendly dating' that a new term has been coined to describe those who are only looking to date people as passionate about the environment as they are - "ecosexual".
Ecosexuals are keen on offsetting their carbon emissions, so a spur-of-the-moment idea to jet off to Paris for the weekend is out of the question.
On the other hand, ecosexuals have plenty of scope for romance because they hate leaving lights on, so are keen on candlelit suppers.
In fact being an ecosexual is becoming so popular that a recent poll of 2,046 UK adults for EDF Energy found that being eco-friendly now ranks alongside good dress sense and sense of humour for one in five Brits.
So just what would a perfect green date involve? Environmental campaigner Li told the Vancouver Sun: "My ideal green date would be if my date asked me to meet them somewhere outdoors.
"We'd take our bikes and meet up for a ride, maybe end up on the beach where we'd have a meal out of Tupperware containers."
It's good to talk, so get chatting now! You never know where it might lead.
