Traditional Muslims find love online

  If you're looking for the perfect partner, don't let people tell you that you're too picky!
  
  The internet is providing a new lease of life to people who have particular ideals in mind for a future partner, but who had given up on meeting them through traditional dating.
  
  Today, Reuters reported on the experience of "Sweetgal", a 29-year-old traditional, hijab-wearing, divorced British Muslim whose first marriage, which was arranged by her parents, broke down due to cultural differences.
  
  Not wishing to go through a similar ordeal again, "Sweetgal" turned to internet dating and has met a British Pakistani Muslim who she says is "more in line" with what she is looking for.
  
  Geeta Sri Vastav, an expert on Asian online dating, said: "In the past, an Asian woman who came of age didn't have too many choices in terms of marriage. But the internet has increased her options immensely.
  
  "Whereas before she would meet ten or 20 people through her family, now she potentially has millions to choose from. She has the initiative. It has put power in her hands, allowing her to shape her destiny when it comes to marriage."
