    More than half of British adults have had sex in their car, a survey has revealed.

    A poll of 1,000 Brits conducted by car hire firm Holiday Autos found that some 58 per cent admitted to having got revved-up in their motors.

    The flipped passenger seat emerged as the most popular position for love-making, while nearly one in five respondents (18 per cent) said that they had started a relationship by swapping numbers with a fellow driver stuck in a traffic jam.

    However, road rage also seems to be the lovers' downfall at times, as 16 per cent of those questioned said that they had ended a relationship following a huge row in the car.

    A Holiday Autos spokeswoman said: "We wanted to find out what were the strangest, funniest and most exciting things our customers have got up to in their car.

    "The results revealed the car is driving on the fast lane of the highway of love."
