He may be a hard man on the football pitch but Wayne Rooney is a real softie when it comes to affairs of the heart, according to reports.
Sources claim that Wayne did not want to sign a pre-nup when he married his childhood sweetheart Coleen McCloughlin because he thought it was "terribly unromantic".
The pair, who have been dating since their schooldays, tied the knot in Italy earlier this month and although Wayne can expect to earn around £100 million over the course of his footballing career, he did not dream about creating a legal document.
A friend told the Daily Mail: "Wayne thinks he's the luckiest boy in the world to be with Coleen.
"It never occurred to him that he should think about protecting his assets. He's quite old-fashioned about things and thinks what's his is now hers."
