Nearly half of women on dates (45 per cent) decide whether a man is a potential partner or not within the first 30 seconds of meeting him, according to a new statistical book.
However men are not much more patient, with 22 per cent claiming that 30 seconds is also the make or break period for them.
Meanwhile a staggering 75 per cent of women who own pets say that their animal is more important than any man, half of respondents said that they would not commit to a date who did not like their pet and ten per cent claimed that their pet had actively tried to drive their man out, the Daily Mail reports.
Savvy Brits are not fooled when it comes to passion as just four per cent believe that chocolate will boost their sex life, although French people were more likely to think a morsel of the sweet stuff would enhance activities between the sheets.
The figures, adapted from What Are The Odds? by Roger Schlaifer and Graham Sharpe, also revealed that ten per cent of Europeans are now conceived on beds from Ikea.
