French president Nicolas Sarkozy and his former-model wife Carla Bruni have been photographed for the first time since rumours emerged that both of them were having extra-marital affairs. The couple were spotted walking through New York holding hands and kissing occasionally.
Bruni, who recently shot a YouTube video insisted she wants “everyone to love me”, has been accused of a romance with French singer, Benjamin Biolay, who is six years her junior; allegedly the pair shared a romantic holiday in Thailand. Before her marriage to the politician she famously admitted to an interviewer of the French magazine Madame Figaro that “monogamy bores me”.
Sarkozy has also been said to have had an affair with his ecology minister Chantal Jouanno; she has denied such rumours.
The couple seemed to put the allegations behind them as they strolled around the city with Sarkozy’s son Louis.
